Barron Trump made quite the impression at his father’s presidential inauguration on January 20.
The youngest son of the president was there with his mom, Melania, and while people always talked about his height, there were a bunch of other things about Barron’s day that got the attention of both experts and fans on social media.
The 18-year-old was praised for how he acted, even though some people said they noticed strange things about him. Some even accused Barron of using a fake tan like his dad, and there were questions about his hair too. Like, is he starting to go bald already?
Barron Trump hadn’t been seen much in public for years before his dad won the 2024 Presidential Election. On election night, he was on stage with Donald, his mom Melania Trump, and other family members. With his dad getting ready to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Inauguration Day, January 20, Barron was definitely there to see this big day for his family.
Barron became a big deal throughout the day, with lots of people watching what he did. The young guy talked with world leaders and former presidents, including Joe Biden, and even chatted with Kamala Harris, who lost the election to his dad. Online, many people praised Barron for being polite and greeting Biden and Harris.
“I was really impressed by that gesture from someone so young. To go across the aisle and shake their hands was a very classy and mature thing to do. Good for Barron,” one person commented.
Barron Trump showed off “super-confidence” on Inauguration Day
Another person commented: “What a great young man… That action really says it all. Great job, Melania.”
As reported by the Daily Mail, the TikTok video featuring Barron and Biden had over half a million views in just the first week. One viewer joked, “Looks like he said, ‘You’re done.’”
In an interview with the Daily Mail, body language expert and communication coach Judi James shared another perspective. She noted that Barron bent down to shake hands with Biden in a way that was “very confident” and “charming.”
“And even though Biden’s expression seems to drop as if Barron has delivered some kind of ominous message, the reality was much simpler. Barron was just leaning in to greet Kamala, and Biden’s face showed that he had completed his greeting with Trump’s son,” James explained.
She also mentioned that Barron’s humor and what some call his “super-confidence” have caused people to misinterpret what Donald’s son might have said to Biden.
“When he was introduced by his dad, he stood like a rock star soaking in the cheers and chants of his name, even cupping his ear to hear them better. That’s likely why some people might mistakenly think he’s making snarky comments as he leaves,” James added.
Additionally, James pointed out that Barron was “acting as a sweeper” during the Inauguration, a role he often takes on when he’s with his father at events.
“Becoming a force to be reckoned with”
“This means he usually arrives and leaves his parents behind, but instead of just walking off like he did when he was younger, he now takes time to shake hands and say nice things,” James went on to say, finishing with the idea that this “defines” Barron’s presence and status without needing to compete with his dad.
“He shows everyone that he is becoming someone important on his own, and because he is tall and more confident, it gives him a royal vibe. Biden had to listen to a harsh speech from Trump, where he sat in different positions, looking either really upset or trying to smile while his whole four years in office were criticized harshly.”
It’s well-known that Barron is really tall, and people often talk about his height when he shows up at events. At the Inauguration, he was seen chatting with a lot of people, but one thing about his look seemed to confuse some folks. Express US mentioned that Barron had a new ‘healthy glow,’ and the Mirror even said he had a ‘bronze’ tan—just like his dad.
When he went to the church service at St John’s Episcopal Church, Barron had bronzed cheekbones and a shiny forehead, which many people thought looked like Donald. Donald Trump’s orange face has been talked about for years. When the current president was younger, his face was lighter because he didn’t use bronzer. So why did Donald start using bronzer? Talking to the Mirror, celebrity makeup artist Safia Cox suggested it might be linked to his confidence.
“I think he uses some kind of fake tan or tinted moisturizer with bronzer. I really don’t believe it’s from sun beds because that would give him a totally different color,” Cox explained.
Social media users claim Barron Trump could be going bald
“I think it’s some kind of fake tan or maybe a tinted moisturizer with bronzer, and he probably used some powder on top. It’s definitely a cream product he’s using, and he might have made it less shiny afterward because it looks so orange. You can see the line around his face. If you check out his hairline, it’s really light, and that’s not from tanning beds; he’s putting some kind of cream on.”
While many people were paying attention to how Barron acted around the important people in Washington, even saying he had a fake tan, something else caught the eye of social media users. There was a lot of talk online about Barron’s hair, or more specifically, the possibility that he might not have much of it.
People started to speculate about his thinning hairline, and one picture shared by the Mirror got a lot of attention. Of course, cameras and angles can trick people, but that didn’t stop the gossip online.
Hair loss expert Dr. Gizem Seymenoglu gave an interesting opinion after looking at recent pictures of Barron Trump. In an interview with Longevita Hair Transplant, she said she thinks the youngest Trump might be experiencing a rare and surprising type of hair loss.
“I believe Barron is indeed suffering from hair loss—much like his own father,” Dr. Gizem explained, according to Irish Star. “His frontal hair is likely thinning due to androgenetic alopecia or pattern hair loss, which is mainly a genetic condition that can be passed down from either parent.”
”Female pattern hair loss”
What makes Barron’s situation different, according to Dr. Gizem, is the kind of hair loss he appears to have.
“Interestingly, it seems that both Donald and Barron are experiencing female pattern hair loss because their hair is thinning all over their heads, and their hairlines haven’t really moved back, which is common for this type of hair loss,” she explained. “On the other hand, male pattern hair loss usually starts with the hairline moving back. But as we can see, both father and son still have their front hair while their hair is thinning on top.”
The doctor also mentioned that stress might be affecting Barron’s hair loss. “Stress could be making Barron’s hair loss worse, especially since he is still a teenager, even if he is a very well-known one who has just come into the spotlight as the President’s son,” she said.
People who deal with female pattern baldness often look for treatments like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections or newer methods like polynucleotides. Dr. Gizem also said that managing stress could help, but considering the heavy public attention the Trump family gets, it might be hard for Barron to find relief.
Donald Trump ‘spent $ 160 000 on hair transplants,’ expert claims
Celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie believes that Donald Trump probably had a hair transplant.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Motykie mentioned that Trump has likely spent around $160,000 on these procedures. He pointed out signs of hair surgeries, such as hairline advancement and flap technique operations.
“I think that over the years, we can see proof of various types of [hair] surgeries,” Motykie explained. “And I also think there are some older methods involved — like flap techniques, which he tries to hide with that odd parting and combing over.”
Dr. Gary Linkov, a hair loss specialist and plastic surgeon based in New York City, also suggested that Trump might have had five different hair transplants to help with his thinning hairline. Additionally, a detailed analysis on the website of The Treating Rooms, a transplant facility in London, mentions that it “seems unusual” for a man of Donald Trump’s age to have such hair without a transplant.
“Even though Donald has kept quiet about ever going to a hair transplant clinic for treatment, and probably won’t admit it anytime soon, there’s growing evidence that he has had some work done,” the website says.
“A painful and invasive treatment”
An image of Donald being hit by a strong wind that showed his hairline revealed a noticeable incision line on his scalp. Many people think this might be connected to past hair loss treatments. Treatments that can leave a scar might include a follicular unit transplant, or FUT, but the way the scar is placed on Donald isn’t usual for this type of male hair loss treatment.
More likely, Donald might have chosen a scalp reduction, which was a common procedure in the 1980s for treating baldness, alopecia, or burns on the head. This treatment takes a piece of skin from the scalp so that skin with healthy hair follicles can be pulled over the head. It’s a painful and invasive procedure that takes a long time to recover from.
Fortunately, hair loss treatments have improved a lot, and the kind that Donald might have had years ago has been replaced by options that are less invasive, hurt less, and allow for much faster recovery times.
