After Trump claimed that Obama was trying to rig the elections in 2016 and 2020, the former president has broken his silence, calling Trump’s accusations “a weak attempt at distraction.”
“Out of respect for the presidency, our office usually doesn’t respond to the constant nonsense and misinformation coming from this White House,” said Obama’s spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush. “But these claims are so outrageous that they deserve a response.”
The statement also dismissed an 11-page report by Tulsi Gabbard, who alleged that officials from the Obama administration were involved in a ‘treasonous conspiracy’ and demanded their prosecution.

“Nothing in the document released last week undermines the widely accepted conclusion that Russia attempted to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully alter any votes,” Rodenbush stated.
“These findings were confirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, which was led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio.”
Trump made these claims during a meeting in the Oval Office with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on July 22, while he was addressing reporters and responding to questions about the disgraced sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide while awaiting trial in federal custody.

The president avoided answering the questions and changed the topic to Obama.
“The real witch hunt you should be discussing is how they caught President Obama completely off guard,” Trump told the press.
“It’s time to pursue people; Obama has been caught red-handed,” he continued.
“The evidence is there, he’s guilty. This was treason,” Trump asserted regarding Obama. “They attempted to steal the election, they tried to confuse the election process. They did things that no one has ever thought of, even in other countries.”

Not just Barack Obama, but also Trump supporters think the president is trying to divert attention from himself after US Attorney General Pam Bondi halted the release of more Epstein documents and denied there being a client list. This decision raised alarms among MAGA supporters, as the Epstein files became a major discussion point at Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit.
