Inside the Marriage of Fox News’ Hillary Vaughn and Peter Doocy Following Their Intimate Wedding and Notable Best Man as They Welcome Their Baby
Hillary Vaughn, 32, and Peter Doocy, 35, are well-known for keeping Americans updated on the latest in politics and business. However, they recently made headlines of their own with the arrival of their daughter, Bridget Blake Doocy, on February 1. The couple exchanged vows in a small ceremony in South Carolina in April 2021.
Peter’s father, Steve Doocy, a host on Fox & Friends, disclosed that the wedding was attended by only 18 guests due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He mentioned that the couple had originally planned to marry in January 2021.
Steve described the ceremony as “beautiful” and proudly shared that he served as his son’s best man, delivering a heartfelt speech during the occasion. He noted that the Doocy family has a tradition of writing poems for special events.
Reflecting on his speech, Steve remarked, “I was fine until the second to last line. I had to pause for a moment.” He shared that reading the poem brought back a flood of memories from Peter’s childhood.
Looking back on the day, Steve stated, “The weather was perfect. The food was delightful. It was truly lovely.”
Fox News viewers were treated to a compilation of photos from Peter and Hillary’s wedding day, where Peter looked sharp in a tuxedo and Hillary shone in her elegant white gown. Heartwarming images captured the couple as they cut their towering wedding cake together.
More than a year later, in September, it was announced during a live cooking segment that Hillary was expecting a child. This revelation occurred while Steve was on-air sharing a recipe from The Simply Happy Cookbook.
During the segment, which featured the Iowa Caucus Casserole inspired by Peter’s political work, Steve commented, “This dish is especially satisfying if you’re very hungry, and Hillary is always hungry.” Hillary humorously added, “That’s because I’m eating for two.”She mentioned that the baby was expected to arrive at the end of January.
The couple has now embraced parenthood for the first time, as Bridget was born at the beginning of the month.
Bridget was born in northern Virginia, weighing eight pounds and one ounce.
Hillary shared with People: “I only realized this now, but I have been preparing for motherhood throughout my entire career by engaging lawmakers on Capitol Hill to answer my inquiries. This role is not significantly different.
‘Baby Bridget – can you provide us with a comment? Are you feeling hungry, gassy, or perhaps both?’ Obtaining a straightforward response is quite challenging!”
The new mother disclosed that her water broke while she was en route to Capitol Hill.
Just a week has elapsed since Bridget’s arrival, and Hillary expressed that it is the “best assignment” she has ever undertaken.
Political reporter Peter revealed the names suggested by White House staffers leading up to the birth.
He stated: “The Press Secretary granted me permission to name the baby Karine.”
Karine Jean-Pierre has been serving as the White House press secretary since May 2022.
This news coincides with Kayleigh McEnany’s return to host Outnumbered on Tuesday, months after she welcomed her second child, Nash, with her husband, former MLB pitcher Sean Gilmartin, in November.
