Stacey Abrams, the unsuccessful candidate for governor of Georgia, has encountered yet another significant setback, this time due to the actions of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk. Her left-leaning “community investment group” was poised to receive an astonishing $2 billion in taxpayer-funded grants from the Biden administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). However, a last-minute intervention by former President Trump’s team has halted the agreement.
Documents revealed by DOGE indicate that the Biden-Harris administration had discreetly allocated a staggering $20 billion to politically affiliated leftist organizations, including Abrams’ so-called “Power Forward Communities.” This group, which reported a mere $100 in revenue for 2023, was inexplicably chosen to receive a $2 billion grant—an amount that is 20 million times its reported income.
Fortunately, new EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin took prompt action to terminate this apparent misuse of taxpayer funds. In a statement to the Washington Free Beacon, Zeldin expressed his commitment to restoring accountability within the EPA, asserting, “I made a commitment to members of Congress and to the American people to be a good steward of tax dollars, and I’ve wasted no time in keeping my word.” He did not hold back in addressing the controversy, criticizing the Biden administration’s overt attempt to allocate billions to left-wing activists under the pretext of “climate equity.”
“When we discovered the Biden Administration’s plan to swiftly allocate $20 billion outside the agency, we suspected that some organizations were fabricated solely to exploit this opportunity,” he stated. Abrams’ group exemplified this fraudulent activity.
Energy policy expert Daniel Turner, who serves as the executive director of Power the Future, highlighted the absurdity of the grant, remarking to the Free Beacon, “For an organization that has no experience in this area, was just established, and had only $100 in its account to receive a $2 billion grant is simply outrageous.”Approximately twenty billion dollars of taxpayer money was allocated to an external financial institution by the Biden EPA, he disclosed. “This initiative marked a historic first for the EPA and was intentionally structured to commit all funds quickly, with diminished oversight.”
However, those practices are now a thing of the past.
Zeldin emphasized that under Trump’s administration, the EPA will no longer function as a financial resource for the radical left. “We will have a zero-tolerance policy for any waste or misuse. Every dollar that has been spent will be scrutinized,” he asserted. “The era of irresponsibly funneling vast sums of money to far-left activist organizations under the guise of environmental justice and climate equity is finished.”
This underscores the importance of Trump’s America First agenda. During Biden’s tenure, the federal government resembled a slush fund for Democrats and their activist partners. Abrams—who has built her career on electoral defeats and complaints—was preparing for the largest financial gain of her life, all at the expense of diligent taxpayers.
Thanks to Trump’s leadership and Zeldin’s straightforward approach, the left’s corrupt financial practices are nearing their conclusion. The pressing question now is: What other deceptive schemes will the Biden-era EPA be revealed for next?
