On Thursday, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino utilized social media to reveal a significant arrest in Texas, occurring merely one week into his new position.
The @FBIHouston team is performing remarkable work in removing illegal drugs from the streets, having seized 150 kilograms of narcotics this week alone, along with two successful operations conducted this morning,” remarked the former leading conservative talk show host on the X platform. “Thank you, agents. Your efforts are contributing to the safety of America. Because of your work, it is an unfavorable day for criminals.

In the meantime, an FBI agent who claimed that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani “might have been compromised” by Russian operatives and alleged political bias within the first Trump administration was apprehended at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport prior to his departure from the country.
In October 2023, Buma, a counterintelligence specialist and a veteran of the FBI with 15 years of service, who had previously expressed concerns regarding the first Trump administration’s management of classified documents, reportedly printed nearly 130 files from FBI networks.
Among these files, at least eight included ‘sensitive information reports pertaining to a foreign adversary,’ and several contained details provided by confidential human sources to the FBI, which were distinctly labeled with protective warnings indicating that the information required safeguarding, according to the complaint.
Furthermore, Buma reportedly printed screenshots of communications with a confidential source via an encrypted messaging application; the complaint asserted that these images, which included sensitive information, somehow found their way into a news article later that year.
Buma is said to have notified his superiors of his intention to take an unpaid leave of absence after preparing the necessary materials for his candid autobiographical book.
According to the complaint, “The draft of the book included information that Buma acquired during his tenure as an FBI Special Agent, pertaining to the FBI’s efforts and investigations regarding a foreign nation’s weapons of mass destruction program.”
In regard to Bongino, he promptly made a significant impression in his new position. Shortly after his swearing-in, Bongino paid tribute to fallen FBI agents by visiting the agency’s Wall of Honor, a move that quickly garnered widespread acclaim from his supporters.
The official account of the FBI posted on social media, stating: “Following his swearing-in ceremony as Deputy Director of the FBI, Dan Bongino honored the courageous individuals of the #FBI who made the ultimate sacrifice at the Wall of Honor, while also reflecting on the legacy of those who have contributed to the pursuit of justice and security.”

Bongino, who previously served as a Secret Service agent and an NYPD officer, was appointed to the role by President Donald Trump last month, indicating a notable change in the bureau’s leadership.
Trump announced on his Truth Social account: “I have excellent news for Law Enforcement and American Justice! Dan Bongino, a man deeply devoted to our Country, has been appointed as the next DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE FBI by the future best Director, Kash Patel.
Dan holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from C.U.N.Y. and an MBA from Penn State. He served with distinction in the New York Police Department (New York’s Finest!) and was a highly regarded Special Agent with the United States Secret Service.
Currently, he is one of the most successful Podcasters in the Country, a role he is prepared to relinquish to serve.
Together with our esteemed new United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and Director Patel, we will swiftly restore Fairness, Justice, Law, and Order to America. Congratulations, Dan!”
