Retired U.S. Navy Admiral Found Guilty in Bribery Scheme

Former U.S. Navy Admiral Robert Burke was found guilty of bribery following a trial that lasted five days. Burke was convicted on charges of conspiracy, financial misconduct, and hiding information.

From 2018 to 2021, he leveraged his role to secure a profitable contract with a private entity, Firm A, in return for a prospective employment opportunity with them. He was compensated with a salary of $500,000 and granted 100,000 stock options by Firm A.

The contract had a value of $355,000, and Burke additionally misrepresented his communications with the firm. The sentencing is set for August 22, 2025.

This matter was examined by the NCIS, FBI, and the DOJ.
