FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has declared that investigations are underway into several high-profile cases that suggest “potential public corruption.”
These cases, which seemed to have been overlooked during the tenure of former President Joe Biden, are now being revisited — including the attempted pipe-bombing incident in Washington, D.C., the discovery of cocaine at the White House, and the leak of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade.
“The Director and I expect to have most of our incoming reform teams established by next week. Although the hiring process may require some time, we are nearing that completion point. This will assist us in reinforcing our reform agenda,” stated the Deputy FBI Director.
“Shortly after being sworn in, the Director and I assessed several cases of potential public corruption that have understandably attracted public attention. We decided to either re-open these cases or allocate additional resources and investigative focus to them. The cases in question include the DC pipe bombing investigation, the discovery of cocaine at the previous administration’s White House, and the leak concerning the Supreme Court’s Dobbs case. I receive requested briefings on these matters weekly, and we are making headway. If you possess any investigative tips regarding these issues that could aid us, please reach out to the FBI,” Bongino stated.
“The Director and I have participated in only one media interview together. We made a conscious decision early on to minimize our media presence overall to maintain focus on the work being accomplished. This strategy has both advantages and disadvantages. We have opted to communicate in writing on this platform to address some of the unavoidable information gaps. I strive to read as much of your feedback as I can, but my workday is quite hectic, and my office is a SCIF with restricted phone access. In response to the feedback, both positive and negative, from our interview last week, we will be providing more information that will further clarify some of the questions raised during the interview,” he added.
The cocaine incident is among the most baffling, and Bongino has previously addressed it.
On July 13, 2023, the Secret Service released a statement indicating that it was unaware of who had left the cocaine in the Biden White House. However, Bongino claimed to have received messages from former Secret Service associates who asserted that the agency was fully aware of who had introduced the substance into the White House.
“They are absolutely furious about this,” he remarked in an interview shared by The Daily Signal. “I received 50 emails, communications, and texts from individuals. ‘This is embarrassing. Humiliating … They know exactly who it was.’”
He elaborated on the distinction between entering the White House through the East Wing compared to the West Wing, noting that the latter is significantly more secure and provides access only to a select few.
“Therefore, there are likely fewer than 200 individuals who could have left this cocaine,” he informed Mary Margaret Olohan.
“They must ascertain who is responsible. The pressing issue is, who is influencing them to refrain from discovering the identity of the perpetrator? It undoubtedly originates from this White House,” he remarked.
“There is no justification for the events to have unfolded in such a manner,” he stated. “Allow me to make a heartfelt appeal to my former colleagues in the Secret Service, whom I hold in high regard, ‘Do not allow that agency to suffer the same fate as the FBI.’”
Bongino suggested that Hunter Biden may have some involvement.
“You have this individual, and we have never encountered cocaine in that location before. There is a person who is recorded using cocaine, known for his addiction, residing in the White House. He was present on Friday, and the cocaine was discovered on Sunday, yet everyone is wondering, ‘Who could it possibly be?’”
