DMV rules mom’s vanity plates inappropriate after 15 years

ense plate she had used for 15 years.

“It would really stink if I had to give it up,” said the mother of four, who often gets compliments about her funny plates.

Referring to the state’s motto, “live free or die,” Auger added, “If I have to take it off the plate, then I’m not going to be able to live free.”

Her license plates read “PB4WEGO,” which is a reminder for her kids to “pee before we go” when they hop into the car.

“Who hasn’t had a parent or guardian tell their kids that before leaving the house?” the paralegal wonders. “I’m not one to complain, but seriously.”

“I’m not into politics,” she tells CNN. “But this is just a harmless thing that represents our family and who I am, and there was absolutely no reason for them to take it away.”

The letter from the DMV that asks her to give up the plates claims that the letters on her plates refer to “sexual or excretory acts or functions.”

At that moment, Auger had 10 days to return her plate and was allowed to pick another custom plate without any extra charge.

After getting the letter, she posted the recall notice on Facebook along with pictures of her plates.

The post became very popular. One person commented on Auger’s social media: “What a silly situation… It’s not just funny and cute, it’s a great reminder!” Another person said, “What’s happening?! You’ve had that plate for ages.”

A third person suggested, “Would that be Pee or Pay…??? lol”]} }}

In response to the people who urged her to start a recall petition, Auger said, “Live free or die my arse,” and then joked, “I think dmv sux will be my next one…but I may get pulled over quite often lol.”

Her post went viral on social media and eventually caught the eye of New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, who decided to change the ruling. He sent her a message saying: “Hey Wendy, it’s Chris Sununu, how are you? I just wanted to let you know we fixed that issue…sorry for that little bureaucratic hold up up there…and the push back…but obviously common sense won out.”

On August 28, 2019, Auger posted a new message on Facebook, celebrating her win. Wendy was allowed to keep her vanity plates.

“This Sassy Momma Has Her Plates!!!,” Auger wrote.
