Living in captivity is the worst way to exist because every living being, whether it’s an animal or a human, deserves to be free. Sadly, we often hear stories about animals that are chained up for their entire lives and never get to know what freedom feels like.
Mufasa, a mountain lion, ended up in a circus in Peru and had a terrible experience being forced to stay chained in the back of a pickup truck for two decades.
Animals in circuses are frequently mistreated and neglected, and Mufasa was no different.
Fortunately, his suffering ended thanks to the animal rights group Animal Defenders International, who worked hard to stop Mufasa’s pain and give him a new chance at life. Their mission was to close down the circus, and that’s how they found Mufasa in the first place.

Getting him out of the circus was tough, but they managed to do it.
Mufasa finally got to live the life he was always meant to have. He felt the freedom and enjoyed nature, but unfortunately, his joy was short-lived. This amazing lion passed away from kidney failure just a few months after being rescued, but at least he spent his last days as a free animal and got to know what it was like to be loved and cared for.
